Liver Diseases
The term “liver disease” refers to several conditions that can affect and damage the liver. Over time, liver disease can cause scarring (cirrhosis). If left untreated, liver disease can lead to cancer and liver failure. Liver disease can be caused by infections, inherited conditions, obesity and misuse of alcohol. Symptoms include jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), abdominal pain, bruising easily, change in color of urine or stool, fatigue, nausea, or swelling of the arms or legs.
