BILLING & PAYMENT FAQs

Our virtual Orbita chat box assistant can help answer many questions! However, below are some common FAQs regarding billing and payment.

We offer several convenient payment options. You can pay in person, online via your Patient Portal, or by calling 614-457-4220. We accept checks or credit cards.

If you make an online payment, your balance won’t automatically update in the portal. That’s because the portal balance is just a copy of your last billing statement. But don’t worry, our billing department will have your updated balance. You can reach them at 614-457-4220.

Patient payments are electronically posted to the oldest claim. So, the claim you recently paid may not be listed on the statement you received in the mail.

We know that healthcare costs can be challenging. That’s why we offer payment plans, when appropriate. Our team can help you learn about your options. Give them a call at 614-457-4220.

The Central Ohio Endoscopy Center will bill a facility fee for use of the procedure room, medications, nursing support and supplies. Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. will bill for your doctor’s professional fee and anesthesia services. They may also add a pathology fee if samples were taken during the procedure.

Step one is to contact your insurance and find out what they cover and if you have a deductible or co-pay. Some insurance websites have cost calculators that allow you to enter information and get an estimate.

Our medical staff and procedures are covered by many insurances including Aetna, Blue Cross, Medicare, and Medicaid. But we do recommend contacting your insurance provider to make sure they cover the medical professional you’d like to see or procedure you’re having.

Any diagnosis code your doctor documents in your medical file, is legal and binding. It can’t be later changed to improve your insurance coverage. This is considered insurance fraud and punishable by law.

If your procedure requires prior authorization, our billing department will take care of it. However, if you have questions about your benefits, it’s best to check with your insurance company.

If you’d like to pay for a copy of your medical records with a credit card, call our billing department at 614-457-4220.
