24 Hour pH Impedance Preparation
This test is completed by a nurse. It is a test that measures the acid and different types of fluids in the esophagus during a 24 hour period. A thin tube will be placed in the nose and advanced into the esophagus. The tube will be taped to your nose and connected to a monitor that you will wear for the next 24 hours. You MUST return the NEXT day to have it removed.

Please Read
- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
- You may not have anything to eat or drink after midnight prior to having the tube placed.
- No smoking.
- Wear a shirt/blouse that buttons down the front.
- You may want to shower/bathe before your procedure, as you will not be able to while the tube is in place.
- Test results will be given to your physician at a later date. Please allow 7-10 days for test results.
